This page is for you

A home where you can feel safe, be heard and be yourself.

You might be looking at this page because someone has talked to you about living at Bright Futures. It is completely normal to have questions—or to feel worried, curious, hopeful, unsure, or all of those things at once.

What you can expect
A warm dining space in a Bright Futures home

Your home. A whole team.
Support shaped around you.

Each Bright Futures home is for one child or young person at a time.

That means the home, the adults and the support can be planned around you.

What you can expect

Things we want you to know.

No website can tell you exactly what every day will be like. But these are the promises that guide how we care.

01

You will be listened to

Your feelings, views and ideas matter. We will make time to hear you and explain decisions clearly.

02

You will have your own space

You will be the only child or young person living in the home, with your own bedroom and space to keep the things that matter to you.

03

Adults will be there

There will always be adults around to help you feel safe. Usually, at least two team members will support you at a time.

04

We will get to know you

We will learn what helps, what is difficult, what makes you laugh and what you would like for your future.

05

You can enjoy being young

We will support hobbies, activities, education, celebrations and new experiences—not only appointments and plans.

06

We will keep showing up

Difficult days do not make us give up. We will stay calm, keep caring and help you move forward.

A comfortable living room in a Bright Futures home

There is no rush to know everything on day one.

Your first days

We will help the unfamiliar become familiar.

01

Before you arrive

Where possible, you can see the home, meet some of the adults and ask anything you want to know.

02

When you move in

We will welcome you gently, show you around and help you settle in at a pace that feels manageable.

03

As it becomes home

We will build routines with you, help you personalise your room and make plans around your interests and goals.

Honest care

Safe does not mean that every day will be easy.

Adults will sometimes set boundaries or say no because keeping you safe is part of their job. They should always explain things, speak to you with respect and help you understand what happens next.

If something does not feel right, you can tell a team member, the home manager, your social worker or another trusted adult. You have the right to ask questions and to be taken seriously.

Your voice belongs in every plan about your life.

Your voice

You do not have to become someone else to belong here.

We want to understand your identity, culture, family relationships, beliefs, interests and hopes. Where it is safe and right for you, we will help you stay connected to the people and places that matter.

Still have questions?

It is okay to ask us anything.

You can write your questions down, ask an adult you trust to help, or ask your social worker to speak with us before you visit.
