Our story
Bright Futures exists because its founders understand that the right adults, the right home and the decision not to give up can change the direction of a child or young person's life.
Bright Futures is a family-run organisation founded by brothers Tyrone and Daniel. The idea began in August 2022, with residential childcare becoming our sole focus from 2023.
Daniel grew up in care and knows what it feels like to experience multiple placement moves. He later worked on the frontline as a Residential Support Worker with high-risk young people with highly complex needs. He saw both what care could achieve and what happened when children and young people were met with inconsistency.
That lived and frontline experience sits alongside the brothers' shared business experience. It shapes how Bright Futures creates homes, chooses leaders, supports teams and makes decisions. This organisation is not built on theory. It is personal.
We built Bright Futures for children and young people who need adults to remain calm, consistent and committed—especially when things are difficult.
Daniel Thompson-Dixon · Co-founder and Director
Children and young people have told us that they feel safe with Bright Futures and that we do not give up on them. That is the standard we protect. We want every child and young person to leave with positive memories, stronger confidence, practical life skills, aspirations and the belief that their future can be different.
Children and young people need to feel physically and emotionally safe before progress can take root.
Trust is built through honest, transparent adults who remain present and keep their word.
Children and young people should enjoy experiences, discover interests and have space to be themselves.
Clean homes, careful records, strong practice and clear accountability all protect the same promise.
Working together
We work closely with local authorities, education providers, health professionals, families and the wider network around each child or young person. Our multi-agency approach is open, respectful and centred on their individual plan.
